Extended Learning Time
Our extended school day will provide students with significantly more time in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, art, and music to dramatically increase the effectiveness of our efforts and the quality of our students’ experience.
Highly Effective Instructional Staff
We will invest in recruiting, hiring and training highly effective teachers. ay utilizing techniques like excellent school visits, peer-observations, lesson studies, video self-analysis, and routine professional development in pedagoo’ and data analysis, we will ensure effective instruction.
Rigorous College Preparatory Curriculum
Our curriculum will be aligned to CCSS and augmented with inquiry-based and experiential learning activities that support deep conceptual understanding and promote high student investment in academics.
Meaningful Family Engagement
It is critical that we partner with families to understand their goals for their students. We will offer families a variety of opportunities to engage, ranging from volunteering at aur school to engaging in regular workshops regarding literacy, mathematics and discipline.
College-Bound Culture of High Expectations
We expect all of our students to go to college. Every adult in the school will reinforce this expectation so that our students internalize an elevated behavioral and academic expectation for themselves.
